Autoclave Sterilizers
Nothing found
It is hard to imagine a modern beauty studio which does not use at least one autoclave sterilizer in their everyday practice. So far, it is one of the best ways to sterilize equipment and working tools.
Briefly, an autoclave machine is a chamber which allows using high-temperature steam capable of killing all living organisms which remain on the equipment. A regular washing detergent or boiling water is not as effective as this device.
How an autoclave machine works
To operate an autoclave, you don’t need to have special knowledge. Simply put the equipment you need to sterilize in the chamber and close it. A vacuum pump will remove the air left inside or the air will go out when steam is pumped. The internal temperature of the chamber will rise quickly and you will see that on the thermometer. Once the desired temperature is achieved, the timer will turn on. When the sterilization process is over, the pressure and steam will disappear and you will be able to open the door for cooling and drying your equipment.
Note that an outside lock and safety bleeder will keep the steam pressure on the proper level.
How to choose an autoclave
When choosing a steam autoclave, consider its size which can vary from 8 to 24 liters. The bigger device will allow sterilizing more instruments at a time, while the smaller one makes the whole process quicker. However, a bigger machine uses more energy. You might consider buying two autoclaves with a smaller capacity to optimize the energy consumption. Plus, you will have a backup if one of the machines fails to work properly.
Pay attention to the number of cycles an autoclave has and make sure this fits your requirements well. Another thing to consider when choosing a sterilizing device is the period of warranty offered with it. Also, find out whether there is a local technical service for an autoclave, otherwise you may need some time to find a professional technician if problems occur.
Another thing to consider is the price of an autoclave. It depends on how reliable the device and which technical specifications it has. American and European brands can be more expensive since they have a higher quality, while Korean and Chinese producers offer cheaper devices for sale and their quality may be far from what you desire. Keep in mind that you may have problems with service if you decide to buy a cheaper version.
Also, some autoclaves go with useful accessories and you might want to use those. For example, an incorporated printer which helps to trace sterilized objects.
