We all care about our appearance, it’s only human nature. And one of the most important aspects of our appearance is our skin. Although you might not realize it, your skin is the largest organ of your body. Not only is it the largest, it’s also a very vital organ indeed. When your skin becomes clogged, it’s more than just a cosmetic problem. It can really be the difference between feeling great about yourself and feeling terrible.
This is why it’s so important for you to take the time in caring for your skin so that you’ll feel healthier and happier.
First of all, you should understand that there are 5 main types of skin. So if you’re going to look after your skin properly, it’s an excellent idea for you to know what these 5 types of skin are.
Normal skin - this is probably the most wished for skin type. If you have a normal skin type it means that your skin isn’t too oily or too dry. It also means you’ll rarely ever have any blemished and generally you’ll have soft, smooth and firm skin. You’ll also only have lines and wrinkles that are associated with normal aging.
Dry skin - because of the lack of water you may start to notice dry flaky patches on your skin. So make sure you drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. Dry skin can also be caused by a lack of essential fatty acids in your diet. So make sure you also include oily fish, nuts and seeds into your diet.
Oily skin - this is the type of skin normally associated with acne because when you have oily skin, the pores become blocked with oily and other debris to cause pimples. However oily skin can also look more youthful than other kinds of skin and those of you with oily skin will tend to suffer less from wrinkles later on in life.
Combination skin – this type of skin can be very frustrating to deal with because you can have more than one of the above types of skin. Often your T-zone will be oily but your cheeks will be dry or normal. You will have to ensure you use products that aren’t too oily or too drying.
Sensitive skin – if you have sensitive skin you will normally develop rashes, burns and allergies. Just about anything can irritate your skin whether it’s synthetic chemicals or natural ingredients. So whenever you buy a product try and do a patch test first to make sure your skin won’t flare up.
So do you know what kind of skin you have? Hopefully you do now and can buy the most suitable product because of it.
